Skip Roberts
serves as Vice President, Marketing and is a principal for Byars
& Associates, Inc. His career began with the agency in 1980
learning various rating systems providing a broad foundation
of learning objectives for Commercial and Personal Insurance.
After receiving a degree in marketing in 1984, Skip has continued
his professional education through various designations endorsed
through the Independent Insurance Agent's National Association.
These include the Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC), Accredited
Advisors in Insurance (AAI), Associate in Automated Management
(AAM), and Ethics and Responsibility of Chartered Property &
Casualty Underwriters (CPCU). In 2000, he received Certification
from the International Examination Board of Cambridge University
in Risk Management for Churches and Schools. He continues to
work with a number of churches and religious organizations in
North Alabama. The Institute of Church Safety recently awarded Skip a National Safety Award in Reducing the Risk of Child Sexual Abuse.
In an effort to address customer and agency issues, he has served on
Company State Agent Councils along with agents sharing mutual concerns.
At present, he is serving on the GuideOne National Agents Advisory Board
to address issues in the religious institution field.
Skip is married to the former Freida Stripling of Fayette,
Alabama and they have three children, Whitney, Kelley, and Carson.
The Roberts are active members of a growing Farmstead Baptist
Church in Jasper.
